Evade Police - Balcatta

A 22-year-old man has been charged with several offences following an evade police incident that occurred in Balcatta this morning, Tuesday 17 June 2025.
About 12.20am, police conducted a traffic stop on a grey Toyota Kluger on Rickman Street in Balcatta.
It will be alleged several minutes later, about 12.30am, the driver of the Kluger restarted the vehicle and accelerated away from police.
Police activated emergency lights and sirens, however the vehicle failed to stop, and an evade ensued.
The vehicle was allegedly driven in a reckless manner and at high speed through Balcatta.
About two minutes later, the driver allegedly failed to stop at a red traffic light at the intersection of Wanneroo Road and Amelia Street, and the vehicle collided with an Audi sedan.
The 38-year-old male driver of the Audi, and the 22-year-old male driver and a 29-year-old female passenger from the Kluger were conveyed by St John WA to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment.
The Rapid Apprehension Squad has charged the 22-year-old Aubin Grove man with:
1 x Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police
2 x No Authority to Drive - Suspended (Other Than Fines Suspension)
1 x Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm - in Circumstances of Aggravation
1 x Driver of a Vehicle Failed to Comply with a Direction to Stop (Circumstances of Aggravation)
He is due to appear before Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday 17 June 2025.
